I'm Jackie — true crime junkie, professional rabbit-hole faller, coffee enthusiast, lettuce indulger (if you know what I mean), and the questionable decision-maker behind Highly Dangerous.

This show was never meant to be another perfectly polished true crime podcast. I wanted somewhere we could dig into the dark stuff, ask the uncomfortable questions, laugh when it's appropriate, get completely sidetracked, and actually have a conversation.

We cover true crime, cults, strange history, mysteries, and whatever rabbit hole has me saying, "Okay, wait... we need to talk about this."

There's usually good coffee nearby, probably a little smoke in the air, and absolutely no guarantee we're staying on topic.

Somewhere along the way, I also acquired a smart-ass raven named Hex and three dumpster raccoons who now apparently have jobs.

So grab your coffee, pack a bowl, and come hang out.

The stories are serious. We don't always have to be.

Jim McCarty

Jim McCarty

Jim McCarty grew up in Philadelphia learning early that the best way forward is to face things head-on. That mindset has shaped every chapter of his life.

A former competitive swimmer who later found strength training, Jim has faced major health challenges — including ulcerative colitis and subsequent surgeries that left him with an ostomy he named Grace. He credits that experience with giving him a deeper connection to others walking a similar path. Today he trains with his son and volunteers with the Embracing Ostomy Life support group, helping new patients discover that life after surgery is still full life.

Professionally he has worked in behavioral interviewing and sales. His approach is the same in both: listen carefully and understand what people are really saying.

Don’t survive. Thrive.
